| FOR TOUGH SEASON AHEAD |
26 JUNE 08 -
AFA Women's Cup winners Dynamo
North London FC are throwing their books open
to new players for season 2008/09 as they look to build
on season's past.
A team spokesman said: "A late
start to our pre-season because of commitment to European
competition (GRAMSBERGEN 08) shouldn't and won't hamper our
preparation for next term.
"We're looking to bring in some fresh and exciting
talent to complement an already gifted core of players.
Plus we've no intention of relinquishing the AFA
Women's Cup or our status as north London's top
grassroots women's and girl's team."
Sessions are being held at Shoreditch Park near Old
Street on Wednesday evenings and Sunday afternoons.
Players of all standards are welcome to 'try-out'.

SAILS-OFF AFTER SEVEN SEASONS ONBOARD |
18 JUNE 08 - Dynamo
North London FC legend Kaye 'Chopper' Kan has
finally after seven seasons hung up her boots and dumped
her smelly shin pads. A team spokesman said:
"Chopper has been with Dynamo from since October
2001 - her commitment to the cause has been exemplary -
she's been brilliant."
The former Dynamo Player of the Year and Players'
Player, joined the team in season one where the
newly founded team secured failed to win a single game,
but helped the north London side through to the 2003/04 Division
4 championship; the 2003/04 Russell Cup Final,
helped the side finish 2004/05 Division 3 as
Runner's up in addition to two consecutive years in the Women's
FA Cup proper. She missed out on an AFA Cup Final
medal despite helping the side qualify but was
instrumental in all of Dynamo's best showings in seven
years of women's football. |

TOURNAMENT FINAL PROVES A BRIDGE TOO FAR |
16 JUNE 08 - Dynamo
North London FC came close to exorcising
their season seven demons by landing the elusive Gramsbergen
International Tournament trophy in Holland. Despite
a shaky start of two draws in their opening group games,
the north London side bounced back with two thumping
wins to finish top of the pile in their group.
An
excellent performance in the semi-finals then saw Dynamo
progress to the tournament finals for the first time in
four attempts. Sterling performances from Elaine
Toshney, Dynamo's tournament top scorer, and
midfield maestro Karen Leite looked like it could secure
the team another trophy. But despite the majority of
possession an early goal against the Londoners dampened
the mood. A penalty converted by Natalie Burnett put
Dynamo back in the game, but the German opposition
proved too strong and hitting Dynamo on the break they
scored the winner with seconds left to play.
